B.TECH-Computer Science & Engineering

WHY Computer Science & Engineering?

Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants which focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Students pursuing computer science courses will gain knowledge of design, implementation and management of information system of both hardware and software. Going by the name, CSE course deals primarily with the theory of computation and design of computational systems. The course is offered across the globe in technical institutions at undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels awarding B.Tech and M.Tech degrees, respectively. Every industry uses computers and problems in science, engineering, health care, and so many other areas can be solved by computers. It’s up to the computer scientist to figure out how, and design the software to apply the solution.

Frequently asked questions

The present and future world can’t live without technology and the boom in the technology sector will lead to lucrative opportunities. Increasing number of software companies and IT hubs like ‘Silicon Valley’ indicates an increasing demand for CSE experts. Concepts like ‘cloud computing’ upon which future technologies will be based need specialists in this domain. Students study the design, development and analysis of software and hardware used to solve problems in a variety of business, scientific and social contexts.

Computer science majors are in high demand. The rapid growth in technology-based jobs in all industries has created a need for technologically skilled professionals. Virtually every industry applies Computer Science professionals in a variety of ways – from computerized control of hazardous and remote environments to payroll processing in traditional industries. Industry, government and businesses seeking graduates in a wide variety of areas including software systems design, internet computing and networking, regularly recruit our graduates. Thus, career opportunities for Computer Science and engineering graduates are limitless. To support our students’ aspirations of lifelong learning and meet their employers’ needs, in addition to helping develop technical depth in our field, we help our students develop critical thinking, teamwork and effective communication skills. They also build computer-based systems such as those found in cars, planes, appliances, electronics, phones, communication networks, and many, many other products. Computer engineers typically design not only the hardware, but also much of the software in computer-based systems.

Students of CSE department are placed at different place and are working as Designer, DBA, Software Engineer, Programmer, System Analyst and Testing Head in well reputed Companies (like HCL, Wipro, Infosys etc) as well as in government organization.

The introductory courses in Computer Science use C++ and the Windows® operating system environment as the tools to teach basic computer science concepts. Many subsequent courses in computer science assume that you know C++ (or another computer programming language) well and expect you to learn other languages as necessitated by specific problems in those classes.

It is a 4 year degree course that includes 45 days training programme for industrial exposure of student.
