About the Department

One of the most exciting career options in today’s world is Fashion Designing. Fashion is a global business that provides a host of different components in which many specialities are available such as fabric and apparel production, designing, fashion marketing, fashion media, accessory designing, etc. Fashion Designing is the perfect choice for students having flair for creativity, style and originality. Only they need to be moulded by the experience hands. Fashion industry provides lucrative jobs and helps in satisfying the creative fancies and materialistic needs of the job holders. The Department of Fashion and Apparel Design Provides a wide range of unique infrastructure to make the learning process more congenial and productive. To guide the novices into the world of fashion designing, we have framed appropriate theory and practical courses supported by workshops, studio classes, fashion shows, design projects, industrial visits and internship to give hands-on experience. Skilled and experienced staff from across the country, smart class rooms and well stocked central library is our strength.

Future and job perspectives

Fashion design is an industry with a long history. Its growth has remained steady over the years, and the job outlook is good for the future. Styles change with the seasons so there is always a demand for new designs and designers to create something new and different. On one hand, the fashion industry satisfies both the creative fancies and the materialistic needs of the people. On the other hand, it promises glamour, fame, success and a high pay package to the talented people. Fashion designers have several different job options to choose from, which further help the job outlook to be bright for the future.

Fashion shows also provide job option for fashion designers as they are responsible for the planning and execution of these events. In addition to organizing and hosting the event, the designer is also responsible for the marketing and promotion that goes along with it.

Not everyone can be a designer to the stars but there are other choices to be made. For instance, fashion designers tend to specialize in particular styles of garments or accessories. Fashion design graduates may choose to enter the workforce as a fashion handbag design assistant, or they may choose any other which are listed below.
