The National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015 has projected a shortage of 109 million skilled person by 2022 and called for an integrated effort to set up skilling of youth under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY).
Keeping in view, it is decided by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development that All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi will run the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) to train the unemployed youth in engineering skills through AICTE approved Engineering colleges and Polytechnics. The Technical Institutions/ Polytechnics have to utilize their existing infrastructure for offering these courses in the off- college hours such that the unemployed youth enrolled for these courses shall acquire adequate skills under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) and find suitable placement/ self employment.
In view of the above, the Galaxy Global Group of Institutions has started Galaxy Global Skill Development Center which provides skill based training to the dropouts in the different sectors approved by AICTE under PMKVY-TI scheme.
